Will compete head-to-head with the next-gen Xbox (Project Scarlett).
Sony is going all-in.
Mark this date in history, folks. October 8th, 2019. The day Sony announced that the PlayStation 5 is scheduled to release Holiday 2020.
You know what this means, right?
This is Sony telling Microsoft, “this is when it ends”. Of course, for that to happen, Sony must win the console war one last time.
You see, Sony has sold well over 100 million PS4 units since it released back in November 2014. Microsoft, on the other hand, no longer releases that information publicly.
Yea, it’s been that bad. And it could get worse.
If Sony can continue to ride the wave of success they’ve had with the PS4 and continue to revitalize their PlayStation brand with the PS5, then it’s GAME OVER.
We don’t know about you, but it looks to us like Sony’s going for the death blow. Reason being that we believe Sony could have chosen to release the PS5 in the Summer or Fall 2020 but wants to go in direct competition with Microsoft to prove once and for all, who is ‘King’. We know that Halo: Infinite will be a launch title for the next Xbox but what will PS5 have available at launch? If Sony can snag a game like the next Grand Theft Auto alongside a couple of first-party games, Sony might be in a position to start the new generation with even more success than the last, and that friends, would be “when it ends”. That’s what we think, that Sony will indeed snag the next GTA as a timed exclusive and make a deal with Rockstar Games for exclusive content like Activision has. We think Sony will also work another exclusive deal with Capcom for the next Street Fighter game.
